Brow transplant is performed to permanently restore and/or customise the appearance of eyebrows that are overly thin, scarred or completely missing,as well as to disguise scars, etc.
When does the patient start to see the results of a brow transplant?
Three weeks after the hair transplant the newly implanted hairs start to fall out, which may make it seem as though the transplantation had never been made. The patient should not think s/he is losing them forever;rather, the transplanted follicles fail to carry the hairs in their new environment until their adaptation becomes complete.Transplanted brows begin to slowly grow within the skin after two months and it takes up to five to six months for this process to be completed.
Are the transplanted brows permanent?
Just as is the case with hair transplantation, transplanted grafts in browplasty operations remain in place for a lifetime. The same brow care applications–such as reshaping and colouring, etc.–that the patient used to make on his/her original eyebrows can also be implemented on the transplanted brows.
Follicles are individually extracted from the nape of the neck via special eyebrow micro punches in line with the FUE technique. These follicles are then transplanted one by one into channels opened in harmony with the brow’s direction of growth, thus covering the thinning or problematic areas agreed by the patient in advance.
Swelling and bruising might be observed around the eye for three to five days. The eyebrows are to be washed with our recommended shampoo and lotion from the third day onwards. After two weeks the scabs will completely disappear and thinning will occur in the brows.During the course of the second and third months, the transplanted hairs will begin to grow.Within six to eight months, the patient will attain the desired eyebrow appearance. The growing hairs will need to be trimmed once every 10 days in order to give them the shape of eyebrows.
